Agencies Respond to Harrison County Structure Fire
By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on January 07, 2022
According to the Spelter Volunteer Fire Department Facebook page, prior to midnight Wednesday, the company was alerted to respond to a structure fire on Wallace Pike, which is near Little Elk Road in Harrison County.
Agenices from more than one county responded to fight the blaze. When crews arrived, flames were visible from the structure, which was a one-story, single family residential dwelling that not only had visible fire, but heavy smoke as well.
It took agenices three and a half hours to contain the blaze and return. The agencies assisting with Spelter included Wallace, Lumberport, Shinnston, and Folsom Fire Departments. Folsom is from Wetzel County, while the others are all Harrison County agencies responding as part of mutual aid.
The Harrison County Emergency Squad also responded to the scene. The post did not mention the damage to the structure, but the photos from the post show massive damage to what appears to be a fully engulfed structure. There was also no word on injuries.
