Mountaineer Farm Crawl Coming up July 25

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on July 12, 2026

It’s almost time for the 2026 Mountaineer Country Farm Crawl. On Saturday, July 25, families are invited to visit area farms to see their operations and learn a little about agribusiness.

Come enjoy farm tours, demos, and hands-on activities,” said coordinator Jenn Brown. “Farmers will share their stories, showcase their crops and livestock, and offer a behind-the-scenes look at the joys and challenges of farm life.”

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 25, the following farms will be open for tours: Fern Faye Farm, a small family-owned flower farm in Marion County where mini classes by That Yoga Studio will be available; Wild Goats Farm, a Harrison County petting and feeding farm featuring goats, lambs, alpacas, rabbits, turkeys and more; Mountain Harvest Farm, a Monongalia County environmental-friendly organic grower; On Eagles’ Wings Therapeutic Horsemanship in Marion County, horse therapy for children and adults with physical, cognitive, emotional and social challenges; Flower Therapy Flower Company, a micro flower near Morgantown that services weddings and other special events; and Turtle on a Post Farm, a produce and hops grower that uses natural methods.

Located on Middletown Road, Turtle on a Post is owned by Brown and her family. They grow and harvest hops and sell to area breweries. The farm recently added an apple orchard.

The Mountaineer Country Farm Crawl is intended to connect people with their local food system and the people behind that effort. The weekend will include farm tours, demos and hands-on activities. Farmers will also share their own stories and show guests the nitty gritty behind farm life. Partially inspired area farm crawls has been a renewed interest in farm-to-table methods, Brown said.

“We are trying really hard to show all our West Virginia friends with crazy landscapes that they can still farm,” she said. “We are going to figure it out and make it work. It should be fun to see.”
