Bridgeport, Clarksburg First Responders at Emily Drive and Route 50 Intersection for Two-Vehicle Wreck

By Jeff Toquinto on March 28, 2023

It was a familiar scene in a familiar area for emergency service responders from both the City of Bridgeport and the City of Clarksburg.

At 6:51 a.m. Monday, officials were called out for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. The call was for a two-vehicle wreck near the intersection of U.S. Route 50 and Emily Drive.

The area sees dozens of wrecks each year.

“There were two vehicles involves and it was side impact. There was moderate damage to both vehicles,” said Bridgeport Fire Deputy Chief Greg Pigg. “I am pretty sure both of the vehicles were towed from the scene.”

There was some good news. Despite the initial call going out for a vehicle accident with injuries, if there were injuries they were not significant enough for those involved to be transported. According to Pigg, those involved signed off not to be transported for medical treatment.

The Bridgeport Fire Department was joined on the scene. The Clarksburg Police Department also assisted along with the Clarksburg Fire Department.

The Bridgeport Police Department is handling the investigation. The wreck did lead to traffic interruptions on Route 50 East for a brief period of time.
