Bridgeport High Students Join with Peers from RCB and Liberty at 43rd WVU Honor Band in Morgantown

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on February 18, 2024

Several students from Bridgeport High School joined others from Robert C. Byrd and Liberty took part in the 43rd Annual West Virginia University Honor Band in Morgantown.

The event ran Feb. 8 through Feb. 10. During this three-day event, participating high school band students have the opportunity to work with outstanding nationally known conductors, engage in masterclasses offered by members of the WVU School of Music faculty, and perform in a final performance at the end of the event.

In order to qualify, students had to first be nominated by their school’s band director. After that an application process took place, followed by a video audition to choose those who attended.

The WVU Honor Band consisted of students from across West Virginia. It also included students from six additional states.
