By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 12, 2024

Several Bridgeport High School students received awards for recognition last week based on certain academic standards and criteria met. Awards granted were the National Rural and Small-Town Award, First Generation Award, and the National Hispanic Heritage Recognition Award.

The awards are part of the College Board’s National Recognition and Big Future programs, which strive to give students the best opportunities to explore career interests, colleges, and potential scholarships, among other ventures. To be eligible for the award, students must have held a GPA of 3.3 or higher, scored within the top 10% of test takers within their state in regards to the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 or have scored a 3 or higher on two or more AP exams between 9th and 10th grade, as well as attend a school in a rural area/small town.

The Bridgeport High School faculty and staff are all very proud of the awardees and their strive for academic excellence.
