Off the Shelf: It's Time to Meet Local Writers as Third Annual Author Meet & Greet Event Saturday at Library

By Savanna Draper on November 13, 2024 from Off the Shelf

The Bridgeport Public Library will be hosting its 3rd annual Author Meet & Greet on Saturday, November 16 at 11:30am in the library’s Event Space. At this event perfect for the whole family, attendees will be able to connect with the local writing community, talk one-on-one with over a dozen authors, and find their next great read. Refreshments will be provided at this special event, with plenty of time to mix and mingle.

Books from many genres will be available including paranormal romance, horror fiction, historical war fiction, inspirational nonfiction, children's fiction, and many others. This is the perfect event just in time for the holidays!

We will have over a dozen authors in attendance this year. Some have been with us since our first Author Meet & Greet, and some are brand new to the event. We will have Zanna Archer, Susan Baron, Lori Fontanez, Patricia Harman, Anna Harsh, Patricia Hopper Patteson, JoAnn James, Lisa McCombs, William Chaise Robertson, Anna Smucker, Peter Taylor, Diana Pishner Walker, Linda Zinn, and the Morgantown Writers Group in attendance. Full bios of each author can be found on our website at bplwv.org/events or in the Author Meet & Greet print brochure at the library.

Whether you are a seasoned or aspiring writer, a reader, or a lover of West Virginia literature, this event is sure to satisfy. We encourage everyone to come out and support our local authors! If you are a published author interested in attending any of our future author events, please contact Angela Spatafore, our Adult Services Coordinator, at aspatafore@bridgeportwv.gov.

The Bridgeport Public Library regularly holds events and programs for writers. The Write Connection, for adults, is a writing club for published and aspiring writers alike. Each meeting includes a fun writing exercise and open discussion. We offer an option for writers to get feedback, and sometimes have local authors as guest speakers. Young Wordsmiths, for ages 12-17, is an opportunity to grow in a community of fellow young writers and gain feedback. Visit our website for a full event calendar of these events.
