Off the Shelf: Library's Latest Feature Involves being Participant in "Author Talks" Streaming on Web Site

We’re offering something new—we are now partnering with the Library Speakers Consortium!
 
You can view live and recorded author talks from best-selling authors through this website: libraryc.org/bplwv. Several author talks are hosted per month, and you can view them as a live participant to ask questions and interact with the author. The talks are streamed live on the website, and should you miss a talk you'd like to view, you have the option of viewing a recording of the talk. These talks are free to view, and you don't need to have a library card to participate. The authors are all diverse and varied in terms of writing style and subject with both fiction and nonfiction books represented.

Liz Moore, Long Bright River, August 9th. Join us for an enthralling evening with New York Times Bestselling author Liz Moore as she discusses her international bestseller, Long Bright River, and her other works. Long Bright River takes place in Philadelphia where Moore has lived for over a decade. The novel traces the story of two sisters estranged from each other but bonded by their choices. Mickey is a cop, and Kacey is homeless and in the clutches of addiction. Dr. Michele Harper, The Beauty in Breaking: A Memoir, August 22nd. Join us for an enlightening discussion with Dr. Michele Harper as she highlights the lessons learned on her inspiring personal journey of discovery and self-reflection as written in her New York Times Best Selling memoir, The Beauty in Breaking. The Beauty in Breaking tells the story of Dr. Harper, a female, African American, ER physician in an overwhelmingly male and white profession. Brought up in Washington, D.C., in a complicated family, she attended Harvard, where she met her husband.
