After Win Against Jefferson, Indians Improve to 17-3 and Remain No. 2 in Class AAA Power Rankings

Jacob Stavrarkis pitched a complete-game three-hit shutout to lead Bridgeport past Jefferson, 3-0, on Saturday.

BHS got all the runs it would need in the third inning thanks to an RBI double from Brody Pierce but Dylan Duvall provided some insurance runs with a two-run homer in the fifth.
The victory against Jefferson was a quick bounce back for the Tribe, who earlier on Saturday suffered their third loss of the season, 5-4, against St. Maria Goretti (Md.). All three losses for the Indians have been one-run games.
Grant Lively had two hits including a double against Goretti and Mark Biafore scored a pair of runs.
Kasen Baun was tagged with the loss, allowing three hits and five runs over three innings with six walks and four strikeouts. Dylan Duvall pitched three strong innings of relief with three strikeouts.
In a 14-11 win against Fairmont Senior, the Indians pounded out 12 hits but had no extra-base hits.
Zach Rohrig went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and scored two runs. Dylan Duvall and Lively each drove in a pair of runs, while Biafore scored three.
Justin Duvall earned the win out of the bullpen. He allowed one hit over three innings, with three runs, walked three and struck out five.
Rowen Michaelis had two hits and three RBIs and Duvall had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Indians past University, 9-4.
Rohrig added a pair of hits and Biafore doubled and scored two runs.
Conner Blake earned the win, allowing seven hits and three runs over five innings with a strikeout.
In a 10-8 victory against Parkersburg South, Michael Romano drove in four runs and finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and scored two runs.
Baun had three hits and three RBIs. Dylan Duvall and Blake each had two hits and scored twice. Ben Bifano hit a double.
Michaelis picked up the win, scattering six hits over 4 1-3 innings. He allowed four runs but only one was earned. He walked one and struck out seven.
Justin Duvall earned the save, striking out six in two innings of work.
