STRONG Idea: 12 Days of Fitness; Day 8

On the eighth DAY OF FITNESS, my trainer gave to me
 
8 Spider Man Push-ups
7 Squat Jumps
6 Push-ups
5 Squats
4 Jumping Jacks
3-V-crunches
2-Floor to Ceilings and
A 1-minute plank.
 
This is the eighth of a series of 12 posts designed to encourage you to meet the challenge of exercising for 12 consecutive days during the holiday season.  Need to start at the beginning? Click here.  Want to read more about the nature of the challenge? Click here.
 
The exercise of the day is a Spider Man Push-up.  Watch the video of this one (they say a video speaks a million words).  Basically you’re going to bring one knee up toward the same elbow while simultaneously performing a push-up.  Alternate sides.
 
Modification:  If this exercise is a bit much for you right now, don’t bend your arms.  In other words, stay in the plank and bring one knee toward the same elbow.  Alternate sides.
 
This is a super advanced exercise, which moves multiple joints while working multiple muscle groups.  It also encourages balance and coordination.
 
Water challenge: Are you having trouble increasing your water intake?  Here are some simple tips that might help.
·         Drink a full 8 ounces of water every time you brush your teeth.  I love the way I feel if I drink a full glass of water first thing in the morning.
·         Drink a serving of water in between every non-water drink.  Want a second cup of coffee?  No problem…earn it by drinking some water first.
·         Drink water with every meal.
·         Sip on water while running car pool or errands.
