Bridgeport Baseball Learns Seeding for Regional Tournament

By Michael Minnich on May 13, 2026

The Bridgeport Indians will try and make a return to the Class AAA state tournament from the top line in the bracket.

The Tribe, which finished the regular season Tuesday with a 28-4 record, are the No. 1 seed in the regional tournament, which will begin on Monday, May 18 and must conclude by Thursday, May 28.

Bridgeport has a bye in the double-elimination format and will play either No. 4 Elkins or No. 5 Keyser on Tuesday.

A win on Tuesday would mean a game on Thursday to potentially advance to the state tournament, while a loss would mean a rematch on Friday to determine one of the two state bids from Region II.

In the other half of Region II, Robert C. Byrd is the higher seed at No. 2, with No. 3 Hampshire and No. 6 Lewis County battling to face them.

The state tournament, which has doubled in size from four teams in each of the four classes to eight, begins on June 6 in Huntington and runs through June 13.

The full regional seedings can be found here.
