Bridgeport to Extend Football Series with Fort Hill
By Michael Minnich on October 02, 2026
Tonight's matchup between the Bridgeport Indians and Fort Hill Sentinels won't be the last.
As first reported by WCBC Radio in Cumberland, and confirmed by BHS athletic director Tom Sears, the series between the two powers in their respective states will be extended two more years through the 2028 season.
For two teams that struggle to find teams that are willing to play them, it's a dual relief.
Bridgeport's 11 state championships have included 5 since 2013, 4 in Class AAA and 1 in the revised Class AAA, and Fort Hill has also won 11 state championships in football, 9 of them in 1A since 2013.
Before meeting in the regular season, Bridgeport had already built a relationship with Fort Hill through playing in the Sentinels' Queen City Quad preseason scrimmage event.
Bridgeport won the first meeting in the series at Wayne Jamison Field last year, 49-14, behind 193 yards and 4 touchdowns from Gavin Williams.
