Shinnston Area Kids Sports Annual 5K

The Shinnston Area Kids Sports committee will host their annual fundraiser 5K event on Saturday, May 7th. The 5K is “for the kids” as this event is a collaboration between all of the area youth sports leagues, in an effort to help reduce multi-fundraising events throughout the year. All race proceeds are split between the following groups: Shinnston Spartans Football & Cheer, Mountain State Girls Softball, Shinnston Soccer, Shinnston Jerry West Basketball and Shinnston Little League.

We are proud to announce that the 2016 Shinnston Area Kids Sports 5K will be held In Honor of the late Jay Carpenter. Through this year’s event, we are acknowledging Jay's contributions to our local youth sports teams and the unwavering support he gave to each. The race committee will be at Gibby’s Ice Cream & Grill in Shinnston at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 6th to hand out race bags and t-shirts to any pre-registered runners, as well as to register anyone who still needs to sign up. Registration will also be accepted on race day, beginning at 7:30 a.m. All race forms and information are available for download at: http://shinnstonareakidssports.weebly.com, race details are below: Date: Saturday, May 7 Time: Day Of Registration 7:30; 5K Begins at 8:00 a.m., Kids K begins at 9:30 a.m. Start/Finish: This is a timed event with ribbons/trophies given to the top finishers. The 5K will begin at the Pavilion across from Rite-Aid in Shinnston, WV.
