Stonewall Resort to Host Thanksgiving Weekend Festivities

Contact: Bryan Brown Brown Communications LLC FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (304) 546-5500 Celebrate Thanksgiving and a Weekend Full of Holiday Activities at Stonewall Resort Nov. 27th – 30th Weston, WV (November 2014) – Stonewall Resort will kick off the holiday season with a delicious, traditional Thanksgiving Day buffet followed by a whole host of weekend events and activities – to include a ceremonial lighting of the Resort’s Christmas Tree on Nov. 28 – designed to get you in the Holiday Spirit, representatives of Stonewall Resort announced recently. According to Steve Ludwig, director of sales and marketing at Stonewall Resort, ‘”We’re inviting guests to get an early jump on the holiday season with our incredible Thanksgiving Day buffet and other meal options, and then enjoy a weekend full of holiday themed live music, a wreath workshop, a martini mixology demonstration, model train shows along with a host of recreation activities.” Ludwig said two Thanksgiving meal options will be offered this holiday, running from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Nov. 27. Guests can enjoy an incredible buffet in Stillwaters Restaurant, or for large parties (8-14 people), a special private buffet service in the Resort conference rooms. The Stillwaters Thanksgiving Buffet will feature a plethora of traditional and non-traditional items, to include: Peel and eat shrimp with zesty cocktail sauce; Freshly shucked oysters with marinated mussels; Carved prime rib of beef au jus with horseradish cream; Maple glazed tavern ham with cherry Sprite glaze; Stonewall seafood casserole; Buttered green beans with dried cranberries and toasted almonds; Candied yams with brown sugar and marshmallows; Herb roasted turkey with cornbread stuffing and giblet gravy; old fashion pumpkin pie, chocolate layer cake, pumpkin praline cheesecake and double chocolate English trifle; among many other items. Reservations are required, and can be made by calling 304-269-8880. For those staying at the resort, guests can stop by T.J. Muskies Lounge around 9:30 p.m. to make their own, fresh complimentary turkey sandwich. Beginning Friday, guests will get in the spirit of the holidays by participating in a variety of holiday activities, to include a wreath-making workshop (10 a.m.-noon on Saturday), model train demonstrations, culinary demonstrations and other recreation activities. On Friday, November 29th, Guests are invited to ring in the Christmas season with the Second Annual Stonewall tree lighting, taking place at 5:00 p.m., complete with caroling, cookies and delicious hot cocoa and cider. There will be live music throughout the weekend, to include Johnny Bryan performing from 9 p.m. to Midnight on Friday in T.J. Muskies Lounge, and the Adam Loudin Trio performing in the Grand Hall on Saturday. Saturday morning breakfast and lunch guests will get to take photos with Santa Claus himself. The Resort will also offer a mixology demonstration on Saturday where guests will learn how to make holiday martinis. Activities will conclude on Sunday with a festive brunch with “Santa” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as well as the annual Mtn. Laurel Spa Holiday Open House from 10:30am-3pm, featuring chair massages, paraffin hand treatments, facial consultation and hand reflexology.
