CIVIL WAR MEDICINE AND WEAPONS

CIVIL WAR MEDICINE AND GUNS: a program presented by the Harrison County Historical Society will feature James Mitchell, Curator of the WV State Museum. Mitchell will discuss and display weapons of the Civil War period. Johanna Mitchell, former medical technician, will discuss treatment and instruments used in that same period. The programs will be held at the United Hospital Center, first floor classroom.The couple has an extensive knowledge of the military arms and medical instruments of the Civil War period. The two part presentation will begin at 10 am with medical history; followed by the discussion on weapons at 1 pm. The New United Hospital Center, along with the Clarksburg-Harrison Cultural Foundation and The West Virginia Association of Museums is joining with the Harrison County Historical Society to sponsor this program.
