Lunar New Year Celebration 2015 at Healing Minds Clinic

Please join us in celebrating this years' Chinese Lunar New Year. February 21, 2015 marks the 4712 year in the Chinese Lunar Calendar. This year is also called the year of the Green Female Sheep. It is predicted to be a kinder and gentler year than last year which is the still the year of the Fire Horse. Around the world, preparations for celebrations of the coming Chinese/Lunar New Year are on the way. Chinese/Lunar New Year is the most important holiday still celebrated by the Chinese people all over the world. It is traditionally the one time of the year when everyone tries very hard to be with their families. It is the time for a great gathering and feasting. As it is the beginning of the Lunar New Year, it is also the celebration of Spring time. So for individuals and families alike, it is a time for reflection on the year past and a looking forward to a New Life. It is a chance to let go of what no longer serves our highest ideals, intentions, and goals. Then after reviewing the results of what we have reaped, we can set our sights on improving what needs attention so we can fulfill our destiny of a happy, healthy balanced life. The traditional celebrations are complete with foods, music, storytelling, fortune telling and other diverse cultural expressions of this joyous time of reunion. Many a celebration have traditional dancing and demonstrations of athletic skills usually performed by a local martial arts school complete with drumming and exciting moments highlighted by sounds of fireworks and fire crackers. Then the feasting begins. Traditional foods of the Lunar New Year may include fish, pork, duck dishes prepared in savory ways. Dumplings, Soups and noodles are traditional favorites as well. Desserts range from fruits, rice cakes, beans buns and cookies of different kinds accompanied by herbal teas. At the end, parents and older relatives distribute "red envelopes" containing money as a sign and wish of GOOD LUCK for the coming year to the children or younger members of the family.

This is a very brief description and introduction what highlights the 15 day celebration of the Chinese/Lunar New Year. It will be an auspicious time for setting down roots and forming strong foundations for the coming years of growth and progress. There are many interesting and fun facts that can help us bring more understanding and help us relate better with ourselves and each other through celebrating this most auspicious of time of New Beginnings. So we hope to see you and celebrate this year's opening of Chinese/Lunar New Year, the Tear of the Green Female Sheep. 9:00am ? Chi Kung ? Breathing & Stretching for Health 10:00am ? PiYo 11:00am ?
